AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan quits PAC over Kumar Vishwas row

Written by

After a day full of drama within the Aam Aadmi Party, MLA Amanatullah Khan announced late Monday night that he has resigned from the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

“I have resigned from PAC,” said Amanatullah Khan. However, the Okhla MLA reiterated his allegation that Kumar Vishwas is working for BJP-RSS.

“I stand by my words; Kumar Vishwas is working for BJP-RSS. Kejriwal will also realise it soon,” Amanatullah Khan added.

The development comes days after Khan had alleged that Kumar Vishwas was trying to “usurp” the AAP and that he harbours ambitions of leading the party.

Earlier in the day, senior AAP legislators had written to Kejriwal demanding that MLA Amanatullah Khan be sacked from the party.

Around 30 MLAs of the party have signed a letter urging the top leadership of the party to expel Khan for allegedly making baseless allegations against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas.

Sources told TIMES NOW that AAP leader Kumar Vishwas was upset over the inaction of party leadership against Amanatullah Khan for making baseless allegations against him. Khan had claimed that the poet-turned-politician Vishwas has been calling MLAs to his residence and coaxing them to rebel against Kejriwal or to join the BJP.
