The visit to the U.S. will be the Prime Minister’s first official trip since President Donald Trump took charge in January this year.
In a statement, State department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said that the U.S. Is looking forward to strengthening ties with India.
He added that there are a lot of areas of mutual cooperation, including fighting terrorism and people-to-people ties.
He also said that U.S. treasures relationship with Indian friends, so we’re looking forward to having them.
Meanwhile, ahead of PM Modi’s meeting with President Donald Trump, the US has cleared the sale of 22 predator Guardian drones to India, a deal being termed as a “game changer.”
According to sources, an official announcement in this regard is expected soon.
According to General Atomics, the Predator Guardian UAV, a variant of the Predator B, can be used for wide-area, long- endurance maritime intelligence, and surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
It can stay in the air for up to 27 hours and can fly at maximum altitude of 50,000 feet.
